ABOUT FOLK ART DESIGNS 

In December of 2002 I decided to make original gifts for my family and friends. I decided to make silk scarves with beaded fringe. This of course necessitated a trip to a bead shop-where I was introduced to a world of color and texture. It never ceases to amaze me at the never ending colors and textures available and endless combinations possible. Later, the next year my hair stylist was knitting scarves out of these wonderful novelty yarns and this of course led to a trip to a local yarn shop. Out of my excesses Folk Art Designs was born.

Each design is an original and will not be duplicated. I use vintage beads, Swarvoski crystals, Bali silver and Bali style silver made in Israel or India, fresh water pearls and precious and semi precious stones. I avoid the use of pewter due to possible lead content. Many designs contain handmade lampwork beads made by American Artists in the United States! Each piece is designed to make a statement for the woman who is not afraid of color. Most of my designs are for size 12 and up. My favorite item to create is a fringe treasure necklace or bracelet. It is a free style design composed of whatever treasures I can find in a color scheme. Watch for these!!

The knitted scarves, shawls, and ponchos are a riot of color and texture! I use the highest quality of yarns available. Some of the shawls are copyrighted patterns by designers other then myself; therefore, the style may be duplicated by me or by anyone who purchases the pattern, but the combination of yarns used is unique. When this occurs it will be clearly stated in the item description.

It is my intent to deliver original jewelry and fiber arts that will hold up to regular daily wear. I am confident that your Folk Art Design item will exceed your expectations.
